Bus Stop Blues      Words & Music Neil Brewer 2006

I woke up this morning, and turned on the radio to catch the news.

'Weatherman said, "It's really cold outside - last night that north wind came roarin' through."

He said, "It's 10 degrees ...but with that wind whippin' around, it feels like it's about minus 2."

So, I'm standin' on the corner - my face it hurts, my feet are froze.

I'm standin' on the corner - my face it hurts, my feet are froze.

Well, there's a lot of kids out here with me - but I can't tell who they are -

'cause we all got on twelve pairs of clothes.

Can't feel my fingers. Can't feel my toes.

Can't feel no part of me down inside these freezin' clothes.

Well, now I'm standin' on the corner - shakin' from my head down to my shoes.

Someday, I'm gonna' get myself a car, and drive away these bus stop blues.

Yeah, someday, I'm gonna' get myself a car, and drive away these bus stop blues.

Someday, I'm gonna' get myself a car, baby -

with Chinchilla seats ...

and fuzzy dice ...

and no yellow line painted on the floor that says,

DO NOT STAND FORWARD OF THIS YELLOW LINE WHILE MY CAR IS IN MOTION,

baby ...

and a heater ...

and a girl ...

but, 'till then, I've got those old, freezin' bitter cold bus stop blues.
